Colts place DeForest Buckner on COVID-19 list

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

The Colts announced this afternoon that they have placed DeForest Buckner on the COVID-19 list. This does not necessarily mean that he has tested positive for COVID. It might just be that he was exposed to someone who has tested positive.

It seems like he would be a long-shot to play on Sunday against the Titans, but we don’t know the exact timeline here. He could have been around someone that has since tested positive a few days (or more) ago.

Buckner was a second team All-Pro last year for the San Francisco 49ers. The Colts sent a first round pick to the 49ers to acquire Buckner during the offseason.

To say missing Buckner would be a huge loss for the Colts here would be an understatement. The 6-7’, 300 pound defensive tackle is a big man in the middle of a defensive line to have to contend with in the run game.

We will keep you updated on Buckner’s status leading up to Sunday’s game.
