Kuharsky: Ty Sambrailo could be out for the year

NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Paul Kuharsky is reporting that the Titans expect Ty Sambrailo’s injury to sideline him for an extended period of time - possibly the rest of the season. Every team has to deal with injuries during an NFL season. No one is going to feel sorry for you because of that, but they are particularly tough when you have multiple injuries at the same position. That is what the Titans have all along the offensive line. John Glennon and I talked about that last night on Homerun Throwback. Listen here.

As Kuharsky mentions in his article, the Titans have a big decision to make now between playing David Quessenberry, who entered the game yesterday when Sambrailo went out, or trying to get 1st round rookie Isaiah Wilson into the lineup. Wilson was active for the first time yesterday but was one of only two Titans players to not play a snap. He was really only active because of all of the injuries on the offensive line.

The answer here needs to be Wilson. In an ideal world where a first round pick is actually ready to contribute to his team in week 12 of an NFL season, the Titans would most likely slide Dennis Kelly over to left tackle and plug Wilson in on the right. Unfortunately we do not live in an ideal world when it comes to Isaiah Wilson.
