Titans trade for Desmond King

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at San Diego Chargers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Titans have traded for CB Desmond King:

This is a huge upgrade for the Titans. King was a first team All-Pro at corner last year and second team at punt returner. The Titans could use an upgrade at both spots. However, not sure they will want him returning punts currently with how thin they are at corner.

King is in the final year of his rookie contract. He was a 5th round pick in the 2017 draft.

Now the Titans, especially when everyone is healthy, will have a really good group of corners.

Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Titans gave up a 6th-round pick for King:

That had to be one of the easiest deals Jon Robinson has ever made.

Last night John Glennon and I speculated that there probably wasn’t a big move coming for the Titans (you can listen here). I have never been more happy to be wrong.

King does have to go through 6 days of COVID testing before he can be in the building. If that gets started today he could be active for Sunday, but that would probably be a longshot. He should be ready to roll for the Colts game the following Thursday - which is obviously the more important game.
