After an embarrassing performance in a key spot against the Colts last Thursday, the Titans are now tasked with rebounding against one of the league’s better teams in Baltimore. It’s a matchup of 6-3 teams — yet another big battle in the AFC playoff race.
The Ravens were knocked out of the playoffs last season by these same Tennessee Titans, who shocked the world and ended Lamar Jackson’s MVP season early. About ten months later, both sides are key players in the playoff picture once again.
Baltimore’s offense isn’t what it was last season, however. The Ravens have dropped two of their last three, including a loss on Sunday night to the Patriots. Greg Roman’s offense ranks just 22nd in yards per game and has come under fire recently for its ‘simplicity.’
Still, Baltimore has been anchored by their 8th-ranked defense, which gives up just 18 points per game. While the offense may be struggling, the pieces are still in place for the Ravens to become dangerous once again.
For Tennessee, it’s just about eliminating mistakes. Special teams have been a complete disaster from game No. 1, and thing don’t seem to be getting any better. The Titans have been able to overcome defensive issues to stay afloat to this point, thanks to a productive offense. However, as we’ve seen, if the Titans can’t score 30 points, they’re typically in trouble.
So this is a meeting of two top AFC teams, each with clear and defined issues. What does Vegas think? They like the Ravens — by quite a bit. Baltimore is a six point favorite currently, in a bit of a surprising line. The total has been set at 48.5.
The Titans are just 3-6 against the spread this season, while the Ravens are 4-4-1.
So the oddsmakers have the Ravens winning by about a touchdown here — which side are you taking?
