Say it isn’t so. How could they do this to THE BOY? Sigh.
The Titans have waived linebacker Will Compton according to Jim Wyatt:
The @Titans waived linebacker Will Compton (@_willcompton) today.

The move comes just one day after Compton played 5 defensive snaps in Sunday’s loss.
Compton is a fan favorite in the city and is best known for being one-half of the popular Bussin’ With the Boys Podcast alongside Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan. Lewan suffered a torn ACL last week. It’s been a rough week for The Boys.
It’s possible that this is just a numbers game. Perhaps the Titans need an extra player elsewhere this week. I’d say there’s a good chance Compton will be back at some point. His familiarity with the defense makes that likely. Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later. If the Titans needed to cut a linebacker, it’s somewhat interesting that they decided to keep Daren Bates and Nick Dzunbar over Compton. Bates and Dzunbar are both excellent special teams players. That’s probably why they were spared here.
As you know, this defense has been atrocious this season, especially on third down. Perhaps they are making a move elsewhere? It could mean that they are about to activate Adoree Jackson.
I also thought it was a tad strange that David Long was inactive yesterday. He also played just three snaps the week prior. Long is an athletic, instinctual linebacker who really flashed at times last season. It’s been a surprise to see him struggle to even make the active gameday roster. It’s probably worth seeing if he could help this defense at some point. He may get that chance now.
