The Titans fell short against the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday. A game they led by 10 points at one point, but failed to get much going on offense after a 17-7 lead, and failed to get many stops on defense.
The offseason the Titans are about to enter is a pivotal one. Maybe one of the most pivotal offseasons in franchise history. Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, Logan Ryan, and Jack Conklin are all free agents that should be re-signed. The Titans also need a pass rusher this offseason in the worst way. A Clowney-type signing would do wonders for the front 7.
Derrick Henry cried a bit after the game, saying he could have done more. Yes, he could have, but so could have every player in the game. Coaches too. It’s important to realize that we were in that position in the first place because of those players and coaches.
After the game, Henry credited the Chiefs with a solid gameplan to stop the Titans. While they did stop Henry, their defense can thank their offense for making it a track meet.
A loss in the playoffs brings such a sudden end to the season. It’s jarring, uncomfortable, and leaves us searching for answers. It makes me hate football for at least a week. I am so appreciative of the season we had, but you’re always left wanting more unless you win the Super Bowl. Here’s to that happening next year.
