Titans News: JAGs

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

LISTEN UP PEOPLE, like Frank Costanza, WE’RE BACK BABY! It is the Titans vs Jags on Thursday Night Football, an absolute staple in the NFL schedule. This is the earliest it’s been in at least a year, and it couldn’t come at a better time. The Titans need a big time pick me up, that only the Jags can provide. They are the Jags for a reason (Just Another Guy) and Derrick Henry mows down mere mortals.

Marcus Mariota aims to throw the ball to a bunch of different receivers and spread the wealth. That requires him to throw the ball, including taking some chances. If he’s going to be the guy he HAS to trust his receivers to make plays and get it to them instead of taking sacks. At minimum, hit the checkdown.

Wesley Woodyard is OUT for Thursday’s game against the Jags. In previous seasons this would be a death knell for the defense. Thankfully we have 2 stud ILBs in Evans and Brown and have some ok depth behind them.
