The Cleveland Browns have traded Duke Johnson to the Houston Texans per various reports on Twitter. This is an interesting development for both sides. The backfield is pretty crowded in Cleveland with Nick Chubb, who was really good last year, and Kareem Hunt who will be available after the first 8 weeks of the seaosn.
The Texans had a need at running back after cutting D’Onta Foreman last week. Houston took Foreman in the 3rd round of the 2018 NFL Draft. That pick didn’t work out so well for them. Foreman is now with the Colts.
Johnson is an intriguing guy. He is very electric, especially catching the ball out of the backfield. He had 74 catches back in 2017. This makes the Texans offense better, which I don’t love. They can now split the reps between Johnson and Lamar Miller. That is a good thing for them because neither guy is really built to be a workhorse back.
