Absolutely bonkers news coming down from ESPN’s Adam Schefter tonight as Andrew Luck is reportedly set to announce his retirement from the NFL.
Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.

Luck has been battling a bizarre lower leg issue all offseason which was lingering far longer than initially expected.
Obviously, the first thought is that I hope everything is OK with Luck medically. Despite his mastery of our beloved Titans and generally goofy demeanor, Luck seems like a good guy and you hope there isn’t anything deeper that is driving him to this extreme measure.
From a Titans standpoint, this is clearly great news. Luck was famously 11-0 against Tennessee since entering the league and will now be able to carry that unblemished mark into retirement. As much as I’m sure Titans fans would have loved the opportunity to finally take down the big bad neck beard, getting to avoid him twice a year for the foreseeable future is even better.
This news makes the AFC South suddenly wide open for the Titans to break through. The Texans are operating without a GM — and starting level offensive tackles — and are reportedly shopping star defender Jadeveon Clowney, the Colts are now starting Jacoby Brissett, and the Jaguars are, well, the Jaguars. If the Titans were ever going to make a leap back to the top of the division, this is the golden opportunity.
WOW.
