Nate Davis returns to practice for the Titans

Nate Davis returned to practice today for the Titans after missing the last couple of weeks. This is good news for the Titans because Davis was supposed to be in the mix to start at right guard. He hasn’t had that chance as he has been sidelined with an injury.

The Titans offensive line plans are a whole different that what they probably were about a month ago. Taylor Lewan is most likely out the first 4 weeks after testing positive for a banned substance. That means Dennis Kelly is playing left tackle instead of competing for a starting spot on the right side of the line.

The right guard competition, that at one point might have included Kelly, Jack Conklin*, Kevin Pamphile and Davis, has been anything but a competition with everything that has happened. At this point it is hard to imagine a scenario where Pamphile isn’t the starter at right guard in Cleveland.

That might have been the result even with an open competition, but it would have been nice to see everything play out.

*Of course the good news here is that Conklin has been really good so far this preseason.
