Training camp is officially here for the Tennessee Titans. Just under two weeks from today, we’ll get our first taste of action as the Titans open their preseason schedule against the Philadelphia Eagles.
For today, you’ll have to settle for some Twitter highlights and press conferences.
Below is the session from head coach Mike Vrabel and Marcus Mariota. Mariota’s comments are highlighted below.

Mariota on having Delanie out there again...
“That was good, it was good. I keep giving him a bad time, I keep calling him the old man. But he looks good.”
On Jack Conklin’s return...
“Alongside of Delanie, I thought Jack being back — he’s a gut that deserved the offseason award. He looks bigger, looks faster, looks stronger. That says a lot about what he did this offseason. It’s good to see it out here in practice.”
On being more aggressive...
“I think that’s part of our culture here. (Vrabel) wants us to play fast, he wants us to know what to do and play aggressive. For me, it’s understanding the happy-medium. Being able to take chances when they’re there, but also maybe it’s not there and not forcing things. I think Coach Vrabel really kind of lays out what he expects of each and every single one of us. It’s our job to go out there and do it.”
On taking command of the offense...
“For me personally, it’s getting guys in and out of the huddle. Making sure our operation is clean. Limiting our penalties pre-snap. Those things, really it starts with us as a quarterback. Coach Vrabel has put it on us to make sure we’re clean. I can always get better at it. Those things definitely are negative when you’re trying to start a drive. I’m going to do my best to be able to clean those things up.”
On Arthur Smith...
“I like the fact that Art is doing everything in his power to make it quarterback friendly. He’s making it friendly for us to be able to operate. Coach Vrabel talked about us being able to command the operation. Art’s really allowed us as quarterbacks to feel comfortable, feel confident in what we’re doing, so that all of these pre-snap things can be cleaned up.”
“Coach Art, right before we started OTAs, said hey, ‘we want you to go out there and play free.’ For me, I just have to go out there, not overthink things, play within myself and just allow the game to come to me.”
On losing Lewan for four games...
“Dennis (Kelly) has been a guy that’s stepped up when we’ve asked him to, so it is unfortunate, but I that offensive line room has guys that are more than capable. We’re going to have to lean on those guys.”
On his playing weight...
“It’ll be somewhere between 225 and 230.” (Last year was 215-220)
