One thing that is always fun to do before the season starts is predicting how players will do in the upcoming season. Of course it is a dumb exercise because there are millions of variables in an NFL season that make it impossible to predict, but hey, it is mid-July. What else are we going to talk about?
We will start our MCM Community Projections series with Marcus Mariota. He is the guy that will probably see the biggest range in projections because you have so many different camps where people are when it comes to Mariota. Some people think he is really good when he is healthy. Some people think that doesn’t matter because he can’t stay healthy. Some people think he just isn’t good even when healthy...and everywhere in between.
I fall into the camp that thinks he can be really good if he is consistently healthy. Of course that “if” is one of the biggest “ifs” in the history of the world.
In the comments predict Marcus Mariota’s completions, attempts, yards, touchdowns and interceptions for the 2019 season. You can also throw in rushing yards and touchdowns if you feel like it. Here is my prediction:
295/450/3500/25/12 passing and 60/300/3 rushing
At the end of this series I will compile the averages. We will re-visit our numbers at the end of the year to see how close we were to the actual numbers.
