Which NFL helmets are better now than they were in the 1970’s?

It is the one slow time of the year for the NFL. In fact, you pray for these next few weeks to be slow for your favorite team because really the only news that can come out is bad news. Just look at the Jonah Williams news that came out yesterday.

With all of that being said, I saw this tweet this morning and it got me to thinking about a few things:

The first thing is which helmets were better then than they were now. Obviously the picture isn’t as good as one you would see now because the Titans aren’t included, but I think I like most of the helmets in this picture better than the ones of today. The one major exception would be the Bengals helmet. The one they have now is so much better.

The other thing is that it is really cool that some teams haven’t changed their helmets at all. I would love for the Titans to get to the point that their helmet is iconic and they don’t want to change it.
