Titans Player With The Most To Prove In 2019?

Let’s hear your suggestions!

In the last year of Marcus Mariota’s rookie contract, the Titans have a lot to prove. With upgrades on the offensive line, receiving corps, and edge rush, this should be more than enough to get the Titans back to the postseason.

In order to do that, some players have a lot to prove for the team to make it past December after Tennessee’s 2018 season’s ended. With this in mind, which player(s) needs to prove his worth in 2019?

As much as I hate to say it, Marcus Mariota is my pick. In terms of his play on the field, I think he’s quite good. He’s a very accurate pocket passer and plays well against pressure. The issue is Mariota’s durability. He needs to prove he can last a full game season, or at the very least be available in games the Titans need him most.

Mariota certainly has a lot to prove in that regard. Derrick Henry—to a lesser degree (as running backs aren’t as valuable as quarterbacks)—has a lot to prove as well. We need to see him put up his spectacular December on a consistent basis instead of just one month. I suppose Dion Lewis is similar especially considering how much the Titans paid him.

One more pick would have to be Jack Conklin. He’s dealt with injuries since after his rookie season, and that in combination with his declining quality of play means he also is playing for a second contract.

Now that I’ve given my picks, let’s see yours below, MCM readers.
