Mike Clay, who handles all of the weekly fantasy football predictions for ESPN, tweeted out his prediction for every game of the 2019 season. That seems like quite the project. I would love to see the metrics he uses to get these numbers.
Well obviously we are here to talk about what he had for the Titans. Here is how he has their schedule playing out:
Week 1: Browns 24 Titans 21
Week 2: Colts 23 Titans 22
Week 3: Titans 19 Jaguars 18
Week 4: Falcons 26 Titans 22
Week 5: Titans 22 Bills 16
Week 6: Titans 20 Broncos 19
Week 7: Chargers 22 Titans 21
Week 8: Titans 25 Buccaneers 19
Week 9: Panthers 23 Titans 22
Week 10: Chiefs 26 Titans 25
Week 11: BYE
Week 12: Titans 20 Jaguars 17
Week 13: Colts 27 Titans 21
Week 14: Titans 24 Raiders 21
Week 15: Titans 22 Texans 21
Week 16: Saints 25 Titans 22
Week 17: Texans 25 Titans 21
So he has the Titans at 7-9 and never scoring more than 25 points. If that is how it plays out, the Titans will most likely have a new starting quarterback in 2020.
A few more observations:
-Clay continues the Titans domination of the Jaguars, but also the Colts domination of the Titans. I am going to predict that the Titans sweep the Jaguars, of course, and split with the Colts.
-He obviously has respect for the Titans defense. I would be happy with that unit if these scores played out.
What jumps out about Clay’s prediction to you?
