Mel Kiper has released his final mock draft of the 2019 NFL Draft season. While I don’t love this pick for the Titans, it is much better than when he has given them a tight end or a corner back (maybe that was Todd McShay but whatever) in the past. His final selection was Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan.
Kiper’s comments on the pick:
Gary is dropping a little bit, but he has all the talent in the world to be an All-Pro player. His issue is consistency. Could Mike Vrabel and Dean Pees get the best out of him?
Is Gary dropping? Have there been a lot of people out there saying Gary is going in the top 20? I haven’t seen any of that.
Kiper made this pick for the Titans with guys like Montez Sweat, Jeffery Simmons, Garrett Bradbury and Clelin Ferrell on the board. I would take all of those guys ahead of Gary.
The good news here is that today we finally find out who the Titans will actually take in the first round. My hunch is still that they go interior offensive line because that is going to be where the value is, but crazy things happen in the first round of the draft every year.
