[UPDATE]- The Chiefs are apparently not releasing Houston just yet:

They're still gauging interest from other teams.
In somewhat surprising news, the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to release Justin Houston according to Matt Verderame:

So on a day where the EDGE market lost two potential names in Jadeveon Clowney (franchised by the Texans) and DeMarcus Lawrence (franchised by the Cowboys), it gains #reportedly a big name with Houston who just wrapped up his 8th season with the Chiefs.
This is a guy that the Titans should absolutely kick the tires on. While he isn’t young, 30, he is a guy that is still productive. He had 9 sacks last season in just 12 games. He will probably get some pretty good money, but it won’t be anything that is going to break the salary cap.
We are just under a week away from the opening of free agency and things are really starting to move. The dead part of the offseason is just about over. Now is the time where things get fun!
