The Titans are back in the postseason for the 2nd time in 3 years. The last time the Titans were in the playoffs, they lost to the Patriots in the divisional round. This time they look to avenge that loss and more in the Wild Card round. The Patriots vs the Patriots South. Master vs. Apprentice. You pick the story line, it should be a fun game.
Joe Rexrode writes that the Titans might have gotten the right first round matchup against the Patriots, which is a really odd thing to say, but he’s not wrong.
The Texans played a lot of backups on Sunday, but a win is a win and the Titans making the playoffs is no less impressive.
A few milestones happened on Sunday. The first was AJ Brown reaching 1,000 yards receiving. For a rookie, and for a rookie with the Titans, that is a truly impressive feat.
Another milestone that was reached was Derrick Henry winning the rushing title in impressive fashion, with a 53 yard TD run.
Kevin Siefert writes that the Titans have reasons for optimism in the offense but concern regarding the history of playing at Gillette Field.
What did we learn Sunday? That Tannehill is playing at a historic clip and the Titans aren’t going to go quietly.
