Chargers fire Ken Whisenhunt

It was announced last night that the Los Angeles Chargers relieved Ken Whisenhunt of his duties as offensive coordinator. That prompted some people to suggest that the Titans should bring in The Whiz as either a consultant or a replacement for Arthur Smith.

Let me start of by saying that Whisenhunt is absolutely a better offensive coordinator than Smith. Just go look at the numbers that offenses coordinated by Whisenhunt have put up. You can’t argue with his resume.

With that being said, there is no way on God’s green earth that the Titans are going to reach out to Whisenhunt. One of the first major decisions Amy Adams Strunk made after saving up from the Tommy Smith regime was to fire Whisenhunt in the middle of the season. I would be willing to bet there isn’t a lot of love between those two.

And from Whisenhunt’s side, my guess is that he wouldn’t even answer a call from this team. Would you want to go back and work for someone that fired you when you are still getting paid a lot of money from the job that just let you go? I know I wouldn’t.

So while Whiz would be a million times better than Art, there is no way that is happening.
