NFL Power Rankings 2018: Week 1 Edition

Ranking the 32 NFL teams.

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Tennessee Titans Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

It is Tuesday of week 1. Do you know what that means? Yep, you guessed it, power rankings. This year I am going to do power rankings as well as compile where the Titans rank in the various rankings around the league because I know all of you are just dying to know where I rank the different teams.

My plan is to keep the rankings each week in a spreadsheet- for a couple of reasons. The first is because it is a whole lot easier to keep track of that way. The second is that I am interested to look back at the end of the season and see how much they change from week 1 to week 17.

Ranking teams before we actually see them play is pretty dumb, so that is why the Eagles have to start out at #1. They are the reigning champions and should get to hold the spot until it is proven they don’t deserve it.

So without further adieu, here are my 2018 NFL week 1 power rankings:

  1. Philadelphia Eagles
  2. Los Angeles Rams
  3. Minnesota Vikings
  4. New England Patriots
  5. New Orleans Saints
  6. Pittsburgh Steelers
  7. Green Bay Packers
  8. Atlanta Falcons
  9. Los Angeles Chargers
  10. Tennessee Titans (yes, I’m a homer)
  11. Jacksonville Jaguars
  12. Carolina Panthers
  13. Kansas City Chiefs
  14. Chicago Bears
  15. Houston Texans
  16. San Francisco 49ers
  17. Cincinnati Bengals
  18. New York Giants
  19. Baltimore Ravens
  20. Detroit Lions
  21. Denver Broncos
  22. Cleveland Browns
  23. Dallas Cowboys
  24. Indianapolis Colts
  25. Seattle Seahawks
  26. Washington Redskins
  27. Arizona Cardinals
  28. New York Jets
  29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  30. Oakland Raiders
  31. Miami Dolphins
  32. Buffalo Bills

Where do the Titans rank around the web?

SB Nation: 15

CBS Pete Prisco: 16

New coach Mike Vrable and first-time offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur have to get Marcus Mariota going after a so-so 2017 season.

Bleeding Green Nation: 20(!?!?)

I’ll forever love former future Eagles quarterback Marcus Mariota but ... is he actually good? I don’t know. I don’t think this Titans team is bad but I don’t think they’re good.
