The Titans announced today that they have elected 5 captains for the 2018 season. Marcus Mariota and Delanie Walker were elected captains for the offense. Wesley Woodyard and Jurrell Casey were named the defensive captains. Daren Bates will serve the role for the special teams.

None of these names come as a surprise. You probably could have come pretty close to guessing the 5 guys that would have been named captains before it was announced if you are familiar with this team.

Titans’ coach Mike Vrabel had this to say about the 5 captains:

“They have to control the pulse of the team, and they have to help carry the message from the team meeting room after it leaves the unit room and when it heads to the locker room,” Vrabel said of the captains. “That’s their locker room. I’m hopeful that those guys, and others as well, will continue to carry that message on each day and each week as we go through the season.
