Bold predictions for the Tennessee Titans’ 2018 season?

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Tennessee Titans Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

This is it. We have seven days until the Tennessee Titans begin playing real football that actually matters, which means we can avoid using the filler to hold off our anticipation for the regular season and begin with new material once again.

Naturally, here’s an article with some filler.

Titans fans are a loyal, rabid group, and we know this. Like any fan base, this involves the use of bold predictions. Bold predictions take up a lot of space on TV and on the internet, and there’s no escaping it. Bearing that in mind, let’s get our bold predictions out of the way so we can move on and see that we are wrong all along about our predictions.

I’ll start by getting my bold prediction all the way.

Harold Landry will have double digit sacks in his rookie season

Yep, I am drinking the Harold Landry Kool-Aid and predicting a double digit sack season. I have no doubt that Landry will be a good player in the league, as we all do, but now that he’s fully healthy (after dealing with injuries in his senior season at Boston College), I’m expecting huge things from his rookie season.

Simply put, Landry has the quickness, ridiculous bend, and phenomenal athleticism to become a generational talent in the league. Is this a hot take? A little, yes. But it’s a take I find warranted because of how gifted Landry is as a player.

So I’m predicting at least ten sacks for Landry. And before you tell me Landry isn’t starting initially, I know. But in 2017, Bengals rookie pass rusher Carl Lawson started one game in his rookie season and still managed to put up 8.5 sacks. If Landry starts a few more than just one, I don’t see how he isn’t at least in the wheelhouse of Lawson’s rookie season. Sacks aren’t everything for a pass rusher—not even close—but it is fun to witness them when they do occur.

With that out of the way, let’s hear your boldest, hottest takes on the 2018 season.
