Titans (finally) place Rishard Matthews on PUP

NFL: Tennessee Titans-Training Camp Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Rishard Matthews has yet to take part in a training camp practice, but until this morning he wasn’t on the PUP list. The Titans finally made that move. Matthews joins Jack Conklin and Philip Supernaw on that list. By my count, the roster is currently at 88 in a time where they are allowed to carry 90.

The whole thing surrounding Matthews is just so strange. First off, we have no idea what injury he is recovering from. The only thing we have been told is that it is minor. It is starting to feel like it isn’t all that minor. Secondly, he didn’t open camp on PUP.

Matthews’s absence has allowed guys like Darius Jennings, who by all accounts is having a great camp, and Deontay Burnett to get some extra reps in an attempt to make the roster.

Matthews has been a great free agent find for the Titans who has been the most consistent wide receiver for the team during his time here.
