Contract negotiations between the team and Lewan have picked up over the last couple days and Ian Rapoport is reporting that the two sides are making progress.
As the #Titans get set to report for camp today, sources say there has been progress in the contract negotiations for star LT Taylor Lewan. They aren’t all the way there. But progress toward a deal, which increases the likelihood he’ll report and have his reps keep working on it.

This is obviously great news for the team as camp gets set to open. Lewan is arguably the best player on the entire offense and has grown in to a team leader as well. The offense now avoids the ugly possibility of starting camp without both of their excellent starting tackles.
It is sounding more and more like a deal will get done sooner rather than later. Something around 5 years at $16-17M per year with about $40-45M guaranteed sounds about right to me, but hopefully we will get that news soon.
Jon Robinson is doing a nice job of eliminating potential distractions heading in to camp and should be rewarded with a focused football team.
