First off, I have to say thank you to Terry Lambert. He saved me from writing a really scathing post on how Todd McShay sucks at his job. That’s because when I saw that McShay has the Titans taking an offensive tackle in the first round of his 2019 NFL mock draft (In$ider), I texted Terry to make fun of McShay. Terry proceeded to tell me that Michael Deiter, the guy McShay has the Titans picking, has actually moved around a ton on Wisconsin’s offensive line. He has 11 starts at left guard, 14 starts at left tackle, and 16 starts at center per Wisconsin’s website via Lambert.
I do have to give one compliment for McShay in that he has the Titans with the 22nd pick next year. While I think the number will be more in the, you know 28-32 range, 22 is much lower than most of the people putting out 2019 mocks have the Titans picking.
With all of that being said, the Titans probably aren’t going with a first round offensive lineman next year. My bet is that we will be talking a need at EDGE rusher all over again. While I do expect Honor Landry to be a stud, I doubt either Brian Orakpo or Derrick Morgan is back with the team in 2019. The Titans will need to find a compliment to Landry.
