Titans agree to terms with Kendrick Lewis

Adding some depth to the safety room.

The Titans have agreed to terms with Kendrick Lewis:

Lewis was a 5th round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2010. He has also played one year with the Houston Texans before joining the Baltimore Ravens.

The need for depth at safety is obvious for the Titans. They are solid up top with Kevin Byard and Johnathan Cyprien, but they have very little behind those guys. Lewis brings some insurance there.

Mike Keith talked about the “3rd wave of free agency” when he was on the podcast with us the other night (listen here), and one of the things he mentioned was looking for safety depth. Now they have it.

The other thing that was mentioned as a need was some depth at inside linebacker. Again, you are solid up top with Brian Orakpo, Derrick Morgan and Honor Landry, but there isn’t much behind them. That’s why the Titans claimed Gimel President on waivers yesterday:
