Titans 2018 draft: Tennessee selects Rashaan Evans, ILB, Alabama in the first round

NFL: NFL Draft-Red Carpet Arrivals Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Three down linebackers are rare in today’s NFL. Rashaan Evans is just that guy. He can hold up well against the run and has the athleticism to cover tight ends and running backs down the middle of the field.

I was surprised when the Titans moved up that they didn’t take Harold Landry. The need at EDGE is bigger than the need at inside linebacker, but Jon Robinson and company obviously felt they needed a guy that they could trust in the middle of that defense. I am excited to see what Evans will do in this defense.

The need for an EDGE guy is still there. Sam Hubbard at 57 would make a lot of sense for this team if he gets that far. Whoever it is, they absolutely have to get a guy that can rush the passer tomorrow.

I’m a fan of the pick. Are you? Vote in the poll.
