2018 NFL Draft: Week 4 Pro Day Recap

The Pro Day season is onto the penultimate week despite the frenzy that was the hype machine of Sister Jean. Where did the Titans go and who did they see?

March 26

The Titans were at the Razorbacks Pro Day taking in the scenery of the Ozarks and to visit the Walmart headquarters

Could the Titans be looking at Austin Allen as a developmental backup?

They were also present in Orlando to watch South Florida’s prospects. CB Deatrick Nichols is fast.

QB/ATH Quinton Flowers was also in attendance and threw for teams. He’s an electric playmaker.

They took particular interest in DT Bruce Hector

Iowa also hosted their Pro Day event and the Titans were there as well.

They also met with OL James Daniels, according to Tony Pauline

The team wasn’t at Baylor’s Pro Day but there were some notable names

March 27

The Johnny Football saga of 2018 continued at Texas A&M where he threw for their Pro Day event

Here’s RB Keith Ford doing the 40

WR Christian Kirk is good

The Titans were in attendance at College Station to hear new HC Jimbo Fisher speak at a dizzying pace.

Meanwhile in Ames, Iowa State held their event.

Division 3’s Dubuque CB Michael Joseph was there as well. He’s good.

A rep from Tennessee was spotted in Lawrence, Kansas to congratulate Kansas for slaying the big beast called Duke basketball and also watch a couple of prospects.

EDGE Dorance Armstrong, Jr is a freak athlete

Prospects met/interviewed

According to Mr. Pauline, The Titans met with two prospects from Appalachian State

March 28

The Pro Days for the 28th brought a little more excitement as several big time programs such as Florida, Miami, Maryland, Texas, Mississippi State were up on the schedule

First up, Texas

Not to be outdone by Coach Vrabel and Jon Robinson, here are some position coaches working on drills with Malik Jefferson

Here’s some video of DT Poona Ford. It will be one of life’s biggest mysteries why he wasn’t invited to the Combine. He’s a monster.

There wasn’t any word of any Titans presence in Gainesville but I’m assuming there was at least one rep there

CB Duke Dawson could be a steal for someone.

On to Florida’s more southern neighbors, The U.

The Miami defensive line could have given NC State’s DL a run for the money as the most talented DL in the ACC

Off to the land of crab cakes and arguably one of the greatest modern pieces of TV history, The Wire, we go.

WR DJ Moore is good, folks. He’s a great talent.

It wasn’t just Moore who was getting work in. LB Jermaine Carter was there too

Elsewhere in the Big Ten (yes, I’m still not over the fact that Maryland is in the B1G), the Titans visited the Land of 10,000 Lakes to take in a Minnesota United practice and the Golden Gophers pro day (which is convenient since they share the same stadium).

They were also in the state of Texas, just a few hours to the southwest of Austin in San Antonio to secure Final Four tickets and see EDGE Marcus Davenport and other Roadrunners.

In Ohio, the Titans ran the workout for LB Quentin Poling

Prospects met/interviewed

Mr. Pauline writes that the Titans hosted WR DJ Moore on a workout late last week.

Also from TP, the team met with a certain LB before running his workouts at Ohio

March 29

The pro days on the 29th had a little less pizazz than the 28th but were nonetheless very important. The big name program was definitely Louisville and thusly was very well attended.

The day belonged to my QB1, Lamar Jackson. He was great. What’s interesting was that Louisville scripted actual play sets (some of it under center). As usual, his receivers were pretty terrible with multiple drops.

The Titans did send someone to the DFW area to check out the latest crop of Mustangs.

The nearby Cowboys ventured on over from Jerry World in force, sending HC Jason Garrett and others.

While it was the Courtland Sutton Show, there were others that stood out as well. WR Trey Quinn and DE Justin Lawler come to mind

UCF had their Pro Day as well. As expected, it was a pretty good show put on by the reigning National Champion Golden Knights.

LB Shaquem Griffin continued to show why he should be an early round pick.

CB Mike Hughes got in on the action too

Prospects met/interviewed

According to Mr. P, the Titans met and interviewed with a certain receiver while in Dallas.

Also from TP, the team also had a secret RB visit from Southern Miss.

The Titans also attended Utah’s event, according to Gil Brandt.

Various reports state that they met with Houston Baptist CB Chris Hardeman, who worked out at both Prairie View A&M and Rice

March 30

The pro days on the 30th were of the light variety due to a number of factors, including the Easter holiday weekend and smaller name brands doing their thing.

Tennessee was in attendance in Fort Worth to witness Kenny Hill and other Horned Frogs working out. Also to hang out with men’s hoops coach Jamie Dixon and laugh at Pitt for letting him go basically for free.

Could there be another undersized Horned Frog linebacker in the offing for the Titans in 2018? Travin Howard is really good.

The Titans went to the other side of the Holy War and took in BYU’s pro day where a freak athlete at receiver resided

Meanwhile, LB Fred Warner partook in drills

Meanwhile somewhat closer to home base, the team visited a familiar ground in Western Kentucky

The Titans are scheduled to host TE Deon Yelder on a visit
