Titans pick up option on TE Luke Stocker

Keeping a quality player around....

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Last year the Titans added tight end Luke Stocker for the stretch run. He was the perfect guy to come in and fill the blocking tight end role that it seemed like the offense desperately missed. It was unclear if he would have a role with the team under Mike Vrabel and in a Matt LaFleur offense.

Well those questions were answered today:

Stocker makes a quality edition to the tight end group that includes Delanie Walker and Jonnu Smith. The fact that the Titans picked up Stocker’s option today makes it all the more ridiculous that Todd McShay still has the Titans taking a tight end with pick #25.

Jon Robinson continues to add quality players to the roster. Stocker isn’t going to increase the Titans win total in Vegas, but he is a guy that can help this team win football games. That is what building the entire 53-man roster is all about.
