Free agent S Da’Norris Searcy was spotted in Charlotte last night and sources say Searcy and the #Panthers are hammering out a 2-year deal that should be done today.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 23, 2018
Searcy was released by the Titans before free agency started. He was with the team for 3 years after spending the first 4 years of his career with the Bills. Searcy is a solid safety who will be an asset to the Panthers. The Titans simply couldn’t afford to keep him with the money he was scheduled to make.
Now we keep our eye on the next move the Titans make at safety. They are going to need to add another one because they have very little depth behind Kevin Byard and Johnathan Cyprien....and actually it would be a good idea to bring in someone who could compete with Cyprien. Safety isn’t a need most people are listing for the Titans, but don’t be surprised if they take one on day two of the draft if the right guy is there.
