2018 NFL free agency: Former Titans safety Da’Norris Searcy reportedly to sign with the Panthers

New, comments

Searcy wasn’t on the market long.

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Arizona Cardinals Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Ian Rapoport is reporting that former Titans’ safety Da’Norris Searcy is close to signing a 2-year deal with the Panthers:

Searcy was released by the Titans before free agency started. He was with the team for 3 years after spending the first 4 years of his career with the Bills. Searcy is a solid safety who will be an asset to the Panthers. The Titans simply couldn’t afford to keep him with the money he was scheduled to make.

Now we keep our eye on the next move the Titans make at safety. They are going to need to add another one because they have very little depth behind Kevin Byard and Johnathan Cyprien....and actually it would be a good idea to bring in someone who could compete with Cyprien. Safety isn’t a need most people are listing for the Titans, but don’t be surprised if they take one on day two of the draft if the right guy is there.
