One of the bigger stories to emerge from the ashes on Tuesday was how quickly the quarterback market dried up. Josh McCown, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Bradford, Chase Daniel and Mike Glennon each found new homes, leaving the quarterback market pretty dry for teams like the Titans, who are looking to upgrade their depth.
With those names off of the table, the Titans and Jon Robinson are forced to look elsewhere. It looks like they’ll start with former Dolphin and Jaguar Chad Henne.
Former Jaguars’ QB Chad Henne is going to visit the Tennessee Titans, per source.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 14, 2018
Henne has spent the last five seasons in Jacksonville.
The Titans are in the market for a new backup after cutting Matt Cassel last week, who failed to perform when needed in spots last year. Chad Henne isn’t anything special, but he would be an upgrade over Cassel.
One thing we’ve learned about Marcus Mariota to this point — he’s likely to miss a game or two in the regular season. The Titans have to have a capable body behind him.
If they don’t strike a deal with Henne, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them explore the trade market, as was rumored last week.
