NFL free agency 2018: Danny Woodhead would make a lot of sense for the Titans

There are various reports out there that the Baltimore Ravens are releasing Danny Woodhead. He would be a really interesting guy for the Titans to pursue. He is a veteran back who is excellent in the passing game. Woodhead can catch the ball out of the backfield and would be an asset in pass protection. Jon Robinson could also get him for relatively cheap on a short-term deal.

The Titans should sign Woodhead and still draft a running back. Woodhead could bridge the gap for the rookie, especially when it comes to pass protection. We know it takes guys a little bit of time to get up to speed in that area.

Woodhead has been in the league for 9 years. In that time he has played for the Jets, Patriots, Chargers and Ravens. He has caught 300 passes in his 9 seasons, including 80 catches back in 2015. He isn’t a guy that is going to be a workhorse back, but he sure seems like the perfect fit for what the Titans need in a veteran running back.
