Titans Links: Getting Paid

Jimmy G just got paid! The newest most expensive player in NFL history is surely to be short lived as Kirk Cousins is bound to get an even bigger contract from a team this offseason (hopefully not the Jags). As we all know, Marcus Mariota will be a free agent in two years, and I expect him to be the highest paid QB in the league, or near that when we re-sign him. Thankfully the salary cap keeps going up, and we have a ton of cap room to work with as we head down that path. Better to have a QB to give a ton of money to than not.

Bucky Brooks has his top 5 draft eligible players at each position. Just looking at the running backs makes me salivate as Guice, Jones, and Michel would all be amazing additions to our offense. Roquan Smith, Tremaine Edmunds, Harold Landry, and Arden Key would all be dream additions to the defense.

Cameron Wolfe writes that the Titans aren’t too far away from being contenders but hopes hinge on Mariota and offseason additions.

David Carr is an idiot. That is all. I’m fine with people saying they are concerned about Marcus. That is fine, he just came off a below average season. That being said, if you’re going to knock him, don’t say he can’t win from the pocket. THAT IS WHERE HE IS BEST.

There are a bunch of FA’s that I’d love to get this year if the price is right. Trumaine Johnson would complete our secondary makeover, Andrew Norwell would make the line right again, and a guy like McKinnon would give us a very valuable pass catching back.
