In a stunning turn of events, New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will not be talking the Colts’ head coaching job after all. Multiple reports have surfaced tonight that he will turn the Colts down to remain in New England.

McDaniels was rumored to Indianapolis from the beginning of the coaching carousel. There was some thought that he would take the Titans job over the Colts, but obviously that never panned out.
This tweet is still up from the Colts’ official Twitter account from this afternoon.

The question everyone has here is why. Could McDaniels be the heir to the throne in New England?
And where does Indy turn to from here? I’ve heard Chiefs’ special teams coach Dave Toub’s name come up more than once. We’re already seeing it floated tonight as the Colts’ “plan B.”

Toub’s name has been floated for years, but he’s never gotten the call. Maybe that’s about to change.
As Titans fans, are you happy with tonight’s news?
