The NFL has announced today that Nashville is one of five cities on a finalist list to host the 2019 or 2020 draft. The other four cities are Denver, Cleveland/Canton, Kansas City and Las Vegas. One city cannot host both drafts, so Nashville has a 2 in 5 chance of getting the draft here. The announcement for which city gets the drafts will be made at the NFL meetings in May.
The NFL Draft was in New York every year until 2015. The draft moved to Chicago in 2015 and 2016 before going to Philadelphia in 2017. This year’s draft will be held in Arlington at Jerry World.
This is pretty big for the city of Nashville. Jonathon Hutton on the Midday 180 was convinced that Canton is getting one of the drafts. That leaves Nashville as 1 in 4 for the other year. There is a good chance it goes to Vegas with the fact that it will be a new NFL city, but maybe Nashville can pull the upset.
