NFL mock draft 2018: Two rounds for the Titans

A lot of defense in this mock draft.

It’s Monday and that means that our friend Dan Kadar has put out a new 2018 NFL mock draft. This time Dan stepped his game up and went for a 2-round draft. Dan may not be as well known as Todd McShay, but he knows a lot more about the Titans than McShay does because unlike McShay, he doesn’t have the Titans taking a tight end in the first round.

Who does he have the Titans taking in the first round? Marcus Davenport, EDGE, UTSA. Here are Kadar’s comments:

After a middling Senior Bowl, Davenport’s draft stock is all over the place. He’s obviously packed with potential, but he’s limited right now as being a standup pass rusher. That fits in Tennessee where Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan both only have a year left on their contracts.

Will Jon Robinson be willing to spend the 25th pick on a guy that has potential but is limited as a pass rusher? I guess that depends on how long he believes it will take Mike Vrabel and Dean Pees to get him ready to be productive for the Titans. With Orakpo and Morgan they don’t have to have a guy that can come in and be an every down guy right away, but they don’t need another Kevin Dodd.

With the second round pick, Dan has the Titans taking Tim Settle, DL, Virginia Tech. I know nothing about him. Anyone here have any insight?
