The Titans have a 95% chance of making the playoffs if they win out, according to the NYT playoff simulator. They also still have a 6.8% chance of winning the AFC South per Football Outsiders. Of course we would like for that number to be higher, but to still be in the hunt for the playoffs with all of the adversity they have faced this season is pretty strong.
The Chargers beating the Chiefs on Thursday night was actually a really good thing for the Titans. Again, assuming the Titans can win their 3 remaining games, the Ravens are the team that scares me the most. They are 7-6 and have a home game against the Buccaneers this weekend, a road game with the Chargers in week 16 and a home game with the Browns in week 17. The Titans obviously lose a tie breaker with them, so they have to be 9-7 for the Titans to get in. The Chargers can still win the AFC West after their victory at Arrowhead, so they will be playing full out next week against the Ravens.
If you are wondering who to root for this weekend, Mike wrote a post on that earlier this week. It starts today with rooting for the Jets to upset the Texans. Say it with me, J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets!
