What are the odds? Titans vs. Texans

New, comments

We have a spread.

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans have a big one coming up on Monday night, traveling to Houston to take on the leaders of the AFC South. The Texans have rattled off seven wins in a row after starting the season with three straight losses. That, combined with the Titans’ inconsistencies, have put the Texans in the driver’s seat of the AFC South.

Tennessee is starting to get into must-win status if they want to have any shot at winning the division. Unfortunately, the Titans’ wild swings make that seem like an impossible task. Those swings also make it tough on Vegas.

The Titans are 6-4 against the spread this year. They’ve only been favored once all year, which ended up being a loss to Buffalo. Once again this week, they’re underdogs to the Texans.

The spread has been set at Houston -6, following a somewhat positive practice report from Marcus Mariota on Wednesday. The total is 43 points, which makes sense considering the under has hit in five of the last six Titans games.

If you’re trying to pick this game, good luck. You never know what kind of effort you’re going to get out of this group. The offensive line, receivers, run game and secondary — who knows what you’re going to get.

Only because my pick is sure to go wrong, give me Houston to cover the six points on Monday night.
