The Titans have the lowest nERD odds of the remaining playoff teams

Nerd is right!

NFL: AFC Wild Card-Tennessee Titans at Kansas City Chiefs The Tennessean-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans have adopted the “us vs. everyone” mentality. This week will feed right into that mentality because every person with a pulse that isn’t a Titans fan is picking the Patriots. I wonder if former Titans’ receiver Randy Moss will pick the Titans again this week.

So the people at numberFire have some nERD system and it doesn’t like the Titans very much. In fact, they went out of their way to insult the Titans in their write-up showing their newest odds. From the linked article:

According to nERD -- which measures the number of points we’d expect a team to win by against an average one on a neutral field -- the Titans are easily the worst team remaining in the playoffs. With a nERD rating of -2.83, they’re not just the only remaining playoff team that’s played like a below-average squad this year, they’re analytically worse than nine teams who didn’t even reach the postseason.

Well guess what, nERD, the Titans did make the playoffs and they went to Kansas City and won. Stick that in your computer and smoke it...or something like that.

Here are the “nERD” odds for all of the remaining teams to win the Super Bowl:

Patriots 25.32%

Vikings 18.14%

Eagles 15.24%

Steelers 13.8%

Saints 11.77%

Jaguars 9.59%

Falcons 4.27%

Titans 1.87%

Man, I can’t wait for the Steelers to boatrace the Jaguars on Sunday!
