Kevin Byard named to the AP’s All-Pro team

A well-deserved honor.

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

Kevin Byard has been named to the 1st team AP All-Pro team. John Glennon was the first to report the news on Twitter. Byard tied for the league lead with 8 interceptions. I could use this space to rant again about the fact that Byard wasn’t named to the Pro Bowl, but that is water under the bridge at this point. The All-Pro nod is a much more import and prestigious thing.

I remember when people were talking about Byard being a reach for the Titans when they took him in the 3rd round. Those people have been hard to find this season.

Titans Pro Bowl punter Brett Kern was named to the second team. How Kern isn’t first team blows my mind, but hey, such is life for Titans’ players.

I guess Kern should send Terry Robiskie a fruit basket or something. If the offense wasn’t as bad as it was all year, Kern wouldn’t have had as many opportunities to show off his skills.

You can see the full voting breakdown here.

Those were the only two Titans to be named to either team which makes sense. Last year Jack Conklin was named to the first team.
