Two things you need to know about these teams heading into this game against the Chiefs:
Couple of Interesting notes ahead of Titans/Chiefs: #Titans went 6-0 this season when rushing for 100 or more yards as a team.— Mickey Ryan (@MickeyRyan1045) January 4, 2018
Kareem Hunt of the Chiefs was held under 100 yards in all six KC losses, averaging just 46 yards per game. He averaged 105 when they won.
The first number there should come as no surprise. That’s the way the Titans want to win football games. The issues is they haven’t been able to do that as much as they wanted this year. I wish there was one thing they could clean up to ensure they would be able to run it well going forward, but their just isn’t.
The good news here is that this is a good match-up for the Titans rushing offense. Hopefully they will be able to take advantage of it.
The second stat there also bodes well for the Titans. They have only allowed one back to rush for 100 yards this season- Todd Gurley in week 16. You better believe that Andy Reid and his staff has spent a lot of time watching that film this week. Hopefully Dick LeBeau is doing the same thing so they won’t have similar issues.
