Jon Ledyard of Locked on Draft fame tweeted out earlier today that the Titans had a sit down interview with Wyoming QB Josh Allen in Mobile, Alabama at the Senior Bowl today:

Allen is an interesting prospect. Mel Kiper is in love with him. In fact, Kiper had Allen going first overall to the Cleveland Browns in his first 2018 NFL mock draft. So Kiper, and others like Matt Miller are really high on Allen.

Ledyard, however, isn’t as high on Allen:

Here’s the thing, Allen had a terrible season in 2017. Terry Lambert and I discussed on the most recent episode of Locked on Titans (posted below) that Allen is a lot like Jake Locker. He has all of the arm talent, but he is really inaccurate. Spoiler alert: Guys like that typically don’t do well in the NFL.

With that being said, it only takes one team to fall in love with Allen. He will go in the top 15 of this draft even though he shouldn’t.

I would chalk the Titans meeting up to Jon Robinson doing his due diligence. They most likely won’t be in a position to draft Allen, but they do need a backup quarterback. If he was still sitting there at the end of day 2 or early on day 3, they would probably be willing to pull the trigger.
