The Tennessee Titans have officially made Mike Vrabel their head coach.
Here’s a collection of tweets from around the NFL-world reacting to the Titans’ hire...
MCM Community
Vrabel was playing in the league just seven years ago. Kinda crazy to wrap your head around. #Titans
— Terry Lambert (@TLambertFB) January 20, 2018
To me, he is the perfect man for the job. The fact that he was hired so quickly says that Vrabel knocked out the interview, and his ideas re: Offensive and staff were good https://t.co/s8rFUFo6Hk

#Titans fans should've known this was coming. JROB lobes the bait and switch move all the time. He scouted UTC for Davis, only to take Levin. Talked to Tanoh K, only to take Seaton. Let it be known that he prefers McDaniels, only to hire Vrabel

I like Mike Vrabel. I know his defense wasn’t great last year, but he’s not #Titans defensive coordinator. He is a good teacher, a good leader, and appears to be flexible and forward-thinking. Robinson obviously knows him and trusts him, so here we go. I’m on board with Vrabel.

I’m pleased as punch with Vrabel

The good news: my wife is now going to want to watch more Titans football.

The bad news: it’s because she’s #Hot4Vrabel pic.twitter.com/5rl2ijb3D6
The Local Guys
Mike Vrabel was always Jon Robinson's choice, a CEO coach to guide Titans. Two former Patriots (player & staffer) looking to build a similar championship culture in Tennessee. My story: https://t.co/rcZyux1Z54
— Cameron Wolfe (@CameronWolfe) January 21, 2018
With the hire of Mike Vrabel as #Titans new head coach, wondering if #Texans QB coach Sean Ryan might be a serious OC candidate.
— Terry McCormick (@terrymc13) January 20, 2018
Mike Vrabel to the Titans? Get it, like it as much as anyone else in this pool, don't love it. My initial thoughts here: https://t.co/GOGtZtlqQA
— Joe Rexrode (@joerexrode) January 21, 2018
Eddie George on the hiring of former Ohio State teammate Mike Vrabel, "I've known him my entire college career and he definitely has a high football IQ. He comes from a strong pedigree in New England and at Ohio State under Urban Meyer."
— Cory Curtis (@CoryCurtis2) January 21, 2018
Speed of the hire, not Mike Vrabel, is the surprise from the #Titans https://t.co/edE459zj2H
— Paul Kuharsky (@PaulKuharskyNFL) January 20, 2018
Mike Vrabel's big question: Who's his offensive coordinator?
— Paul Kuharsky (@PaulKuharskyNFL) January 21, 2018
#Titans https://t.co/3TNGB5KHfR
My biggest issue with the Mike Vrabel Titans hire is it doesn’t address awful offensive system. And even if he hires a great offensive coordinator then someone else will hire him as a head coach in a year or two. Meaning you have to go hire a new OC again.
— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) January 21, 2018
Congrats to Mike Vrabel for getting the Titans job. I think he’ll be terrific

Mike Vrabel: incredibly tough, rare level of football IQ, great communicator, relatable to players and fellow coaches. The complete package.
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) January 20, 2018
I love the Mike Vrabel hire for the #Titans. He demands excellence, but he’s fair and players respect him. This is a home run for #Tennessee
— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) January 21, 2018
GREAT hire by the @Titans!!!!Landing my man @CoachVrabel50 as their new Head Coach!!! Vrabes is a BEAST!! Well deserved opportunity big fella!! Titans fans get ready—serious energy heading this way!!!
— Kirk Herbstreit (@KirkHerbstreit) January 20, 2018
Best way someone ever described Mike Vrabel to me came a long time when he was a player: "He's owned every room he's ever walked into." That's the guy the Titans are getting.
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) January 20, 2018
Can I rant about this?
— Matt Miller (@nfldraftscout) January 20, 2018
Hiring an offensive minded HC isn't always the best way to "fix" an offense. A HC needs to be a leader. A CEO. Someone who sets the tempo and attitude. Vrabel can hire an OC who is hands-on and helps the offense. https://t.co/FhbM6TojIj
Mike Vrabel looked like a great position coach up close. Will be interesting to see if that translates to that top-rung position.
— Sam Monson (@PFF_Sam) January 20, 2018
He has top end leadership qualities. Could be an inspired hiring in Tennessee. #Titans
What I like about the Vrabel hire for Tennessee: they're hiring him for his general coaching abilities, rather than his experience as a playcaller. It's never made sense to me why teams always hire HCs based on their play calling success, when most HCs don't call plays.
— Ryan McCrystal (@Ryan_McCrystal) January 20, 2018
In my convos with @CoachVrabel50 I can say this. He makes it very simple how he feels about being a HC, a teammate, and how the game should be played. #Titans got a good one. Will be supporting his success Congrats!
— Louis Riddick (@LRiddickESPN) January 20, 2018
Titans coaching search was short and sweet. Interviewed three guys and hired Mike Vrabel. We'll see if LaFleur ends up as the OC
— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) January 20, 2018
There’s about to be a wholeeeee new energy level in the Titans locker room: Mike Vrabel as head coach
— Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) January 20, 2018
Lots of praise out there for the Titans hire.
Mike Vrabel, by all accounts from those who know him, has an off-the-charts football IQ and outstanding leadership qualities.
Now, we wait to find out how Vrabel will fill out his staff...
