Who doesn’t love NFL mock draft season? Mel Kiper has released his first mock draft of the 2018 NFL season (In$ider). He has the Titans taking Harold Landry, OLB, Boston College. EDGE, as gramsey likes to call the position, is going to be a popular pick for the Titans considering the lack of depth they have at that position.
One thing to note on that, there is a chance the Titans could switch back to a 4-3 depending on who they hire as head coach. For instance, Steve Wilks runs a 4-3 in Carolina. If he ends up being the guy, their player pool at 25 will change significantly.
Here is what Kiper had to say about Landry:
Tennessee needs a young pass-rusher. Veterans Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan will both be free agents in 2019, and 2016 second-round pick Kevin Dodd has only one career sack in limited action. I thought Landry had a chance to be a top-10 pick after he had 16.5 sacks last season, but he had a down 2017 season and missed five games because of an ankle injury. He’s talented, but he needs to show he’s fully healthy and explosive. The Titans will have a new head coach and could have a different scheme if they move away from Dick LeBeau’s 3-4.
What are your thoughts on Landry?
