Albert Breer says that Mike Vrabel should be considered the front-runner to land the Titans job:
Vrabel will have to sell Tennessee on his staffing choices and his vision for developing Mariota, but word of how well Vrabel interviewed in Detroit and Indianapolis has gotten around. Robinson laid out criteria for the job during his press conference on Monday, and the first thing he said he was looking for was a “leader of men.”
As Breer says there, the key question for me to Vrabel would be who he can bring in as the offensive coordinator. This hire is all about developing Marcus Mariota. That doesn’t mean they have to hire an offensive guy, but whoever they hire better have a clear plan as far as the offense is concerned.
I’m still not 100% convinced that the Josh McDaniels thing is dead, but Twitter detectives have killed it after this picture on social media from McDaniels’s supposed DC choice Matt Eberflus:
Well it may not be NFL official but it’s Facebook official. Matt Eberflus to be part of Indy’s coaching staff #Colts pic.twitter.com/Irgnd0MHnn
