Another name has emerged in the Titans’ search for a head coach. It’s Carolina defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, according to Jason La Canfora.
The Titans will interview Panthers DC Steve Wilks for their vacant HC opening. Wilks remains a possibility for Arizona's job as well

Wilks has already interviewed with the Giants and the Cardinals. He would satisfy the NFL’s Rooney Rule for the Titans.
Wilks took over the Carolina defense after Sean McDermott left for Buffalo last year. He had been a defensive backs coach for the Chargers, Bears, Notre Dame and Bowling Green before joining the Panthers.
He held the assistant head coach title in Carolina from 2015-2017. Wilks is 48 years old.
The Panthers gave up a little over 20 points per game this season, ranking 11th in the league. Carolina gave up the 7th fewest yards in the league in 2017.
Like Mike Vrabel, you would have to have a strong offensive coordinator and plan in place for Marcus Mariota if Wilks is your guy. We’ll see if anything comes of this.
