It would appear that the Titans’ job opening lit a fire under the Colts. Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero are now reporting that McDaniels is expected to take the Colts job, despite the Tennessee job opening up.
The #Colts have held strong with their pursuit of #Patriots OC Josh McDaniels and that is expected to be his choice when an offer comes, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

This is a huge development for the Titans, who were expected to make a play for McDaniels. If the Colts do hire McDaniels, it would be his second attempt at a head coaching job. He was fired in the middle of his second season with the Broncos back in 2010.
With McDaniels apparently off the table, the Tennessee search opens up a bit. We know that they will talk to Mike Vrabel, the longtime player and current defensive coordinator of the Houston Texans. The issue with him is experience and offense. Who would he be able to bring in to maximize Marcus Mariota?
Pat Shurmur is expected to land with the Giants, so you can mark him off the list too.
Stay tuned for more names to emerge.
