Titans hold the 25th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft

It’s that time of year.

NFL: 2017 NFL Draft Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Titans were booted from the playoffs last night by the New England Patriots. After a promising start, the Titans were derailed by some questionable penalties to end the first half. The Patriots did what they do in the second half, dominating the rest of the game and putting the Titans away in style.

With that, the season is officially over. The Titans’ playoff berth and first round win has left them with the 25th overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The last time the Titans held a pick this late was 2009, when they selected Kenny Britt at 30th overall.

Over the past five years, Tennessee has selected 10th, 11th, 2nd, 1st (traded to 8th) and 18th overall. They held the Rams’ pick last year, which allowed them to pick Corey Davis at 5th overall.

So this is some new territory for us to discuss. The draft gets really murky — usually after the 15th pick or so every year. We’ve had a pretty good idea of who the Titans will be picking over the past couple years, but that might not be the case this year.
