DeMarco Murray injury update: Titans RB officially listed as questionable

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

DeMarco Murray practiced today on a limited basis and is officially listed as questionable for the game against the Seahawks on Sunday. Titans coach Mike Mularkey had this to say after practice about Murray’s status for Sunday (via Cameron Wolfe):

"It's the kind of injury, you watch and see how he wakes up in the morning," Titans coach Mike Mularkey said. "We'll talk it through. We've been pretty smart to this point. We're not going to subject anybody to further injury."

Wolfe says in his article that Murray didn’t look to have his normal acceleration in the limited work he did today. I can’t understand why the Titans don’t just shut Murray down for a week or two to let him get back to 100%. They need both Murray and Derrick Henry to be at full strength to make a real run in the playoffs. Why allow Murray to push it now and have the injury linger?

If you are wondering what to do with these 2 guys from a fantasy football perspective, my recommendation would be to sit Murray even if he is active. He’s not going to put up numbers against a really good defense when he isn’t 100%.

You can roll Henry out there with the confidence that he is going to get the bulk of the carries. This isn’t a great match-up, so I’m not sure how safe he is here. The decision on whether or not to start him will probably depend on what your other options are.
