Titans Trade 7th Round Pick to Chiefs for DE David King

The Titans traded a conditional 7th round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft for DE David King from the Kansas City Chiefs.

King played over 50 snaps on Thursday and Jon Robinson must have liked what he saw. The oversized DE at 6’-5" and 286 pounds is somewhat of a tweener in a 3-4 defense, but I believe he will work as a DE when the Titans go to 40 fronts which they ran over 50% of the time in 2016.

The trade for King and the previous cuts of Jimmy Staten and Cameron Robbins means that this likely spells the end of the line for Angelo Blackson. It is hard to see the Titans keeping him if Casey, Jones, Johnson, Klug, and King are all on the team.

Blackson was on the very edge of my 53 man roster as it was so I think this move means that the Titans were not satisfied with the group up front. Stay tuned as further cuts and additions are released.
